Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called for constructive and healthy debates as the Winter Session of Parliament commenced. Speaking to the media ahead of the session, he stressed the importance of addressing critical national issues through meaningful discussions. PM Modi also targeted the Congress party, accusing it of undermining parliamentary traditions and disrespecting democratic institutions. He pointed out that those who had been “rejected 80-90 times by the people” were trying to destabilize the Parliament and obstruct its functioning through “hooliganism.”
The Prime Minister highlighted that this session marked the 75th year of India’s Constitution, making it a special occasion for the nation. He noted, “This Session of Parliament is special in several ways and the most important thing is the beginning of the 75th year of our Constitution.” On this significant milestone, the celebrations will take place at Samvidhan Sadan tomorrow, honoring the Constitution’s legacy.
In his address, Modi continued to criticize certain opposition groups for attempting to control Parliament through disruptions, emphasizing that the Indian public closely monitors such actions and will hold them accountable when the time comes.
The Winter Session of Parliament is scheduled to run from November 27 to December 20, with the government planning to address various important issues during this period.
