Delhi cop murdered in Govindpuri, suspect killed in encounter after he ‘opened fire’

In a tragic incident in Delhi, Constable Kiran Pal was fatally attacked by three individuals in the Govindpuri area of southeast Delhi while on duty. The altercation occurred when Pal stopped the trio, who were riding a scooter, for questioning. In an attempt to evade arrest, the suspects first threw stones at Pal and, after being intercepted, stabbed him, leading to his death.

Police Action and Encounter

Following the murder, Delhi Police launched a swift search operation, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, Deepak Max and Krish Gupta, on Saturday. The primary accused, identified as Raghav alias Rocky, attempted to evade capture by hiding in the Sangam Vihar area. Acting on specific intelligence, the police tracked him down late Saturday night.

Raghav refused to surrender and opened fire on the police. In response, the officers retaliated in self-defense, injuring Raghav. He was taken to ESIC Hospital in Okhla, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. Two cartridges were recovered from him, and no officers were harmed during the encounter.
