Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s uncle, Pashupati Paras, has vacated the property near Patna airport that he and his family had used as a residence for nearly four decades. Officially registered as the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) office by Paras’s brother, the late Ramvilas Paswan, this white building served as both an office and a residence for Pashupati Paras, who lived there with his family.
After a prolonged dispute, the Bihar government successfully vacated the premises on November 11, with Paras relocating to his residence in the MLA Colony. Despite a notice from the building construction department, giving him until November 13, Paras moved out ahead of the deadline.
Paras, a former Union minister, had reportedly sought support from senior BJP leaders in Delhi to retain the property, but ultimately, Chirag Paswan’s insistence led to the eviction. This follows an earlier incident in 2022 when Chirag himself was evicted from his family’s long-time residence at 12 Janpath in Delhi, a property once closely associated with his father, Ramvilas Paswan, who had spent much of his time there.
Chirag blamed Paras for the eviction chaos, citing his uncle’s political split from the LJP and subsequent cabinet appointment as a betrayal. Initially allotted to Paras during his tenure as an MLA, the Patna property had later become an LJP office after he lost an election. Meanwhile, although Ramvilas Paswan had a separate residence in Delhi, he frequently spent time at the LJP office in Patna, making it his first stop when returning from the capital.
