In Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, security forces killed a terrorist during an encounter in the Sopore area on Saturday. The operation was initiated by the J&K Police and security forces following intelligence inputs on the presence of terrorists in Rampora Sopore. During the search, an exchange of gunfire occurred, resulting in the death of one terrorist, as reported by Kashmir Zone Police on social media platform X.
This incident follows a recent uptick in militant activities in the region. On Friday, two terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Baramulla, and on Thursday, another terrorist was killed in a separate encounter in Kupwara district. Security forces have intensified operations in response to the increasing incidents of militancy across Kashmir.
