BJP worker’s blood-soaked body found at party office in Bengal

In West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, BJP worker Prithviraj Naskar was found dead at the party’s office, leading to a heated political exchange between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC). Naskar, who managed BJP’s social media for the district, had been missing since November 5, and his bloodied body was discovered on Friday night. Police arrested a woman in connection with the case, who reportedly confessed to attacking Naskar with sharp weapons. Investigators believe personal issues, possibly linked to a relationship or a dispute with the suspect, could be the motive.

Authorities stated that they found Naskar’s body after breaking through the locked front door of the BJP office; it appears the suspect may have escaped via a back exit. Police tracked the woman through mobile surveillance, and she reportedly admitted to the crime during interrogation.

The BJP has accused TMC activists of being behind Naskar’s murder, suggesting it was an attempt to intimidate BJP supporters. BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar condemned what he described as the “oppressive rule” of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and vowed to seek justice for Naskar, whom he called a “martyr.” Meanwhile, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh argued that the BJP was using the incident for political gain and pointed to reports of Naskar’s personal conflicts as a probable motive.

Adding to the tension, Naskar’s father alleged that his son had received threats from local TMC leaders for his involvement in protests during the Durga Puja festival. The police are also investigating whether the arrested woman acted alone or had accomplices.
