Arya reviews Panchkula’s crime data, issues directives to enhance policing

In a recent district-wide crime review meeting, Panchkula Police Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Arya instructed police officers to boost operational efficiency and meet public expectations. Held at the deputy commissioner’s office, the meeting included key officials such as Deputy Commissioner of Police Himadri Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner of Crime and Traffic Virendra Sangwan, ACPs, station house officers, and crime branch in-charges.

Commissioner Arya reviewed crime statistics and emphasized ongoing patrolling across different jurisdictions to prevent criminal activities. He instructed officers to proactively address public concerns, maintain transparency, and intensify efforts against drug trafficking. Police station heads were advised to increase public awareness about the dangers of drug use and to pursue legal action against habitual offenders, including the seizure of assets acquired through illegal drug profits.

Arya also addressed other issues, warning against illegal liquor distribution and public gambling. He directed station in-charges to conduct strict checks and act swiftly against offenders engaged in these illegal activities.

With the rise in cybercrime, the police commissioner urged officers to launch awareness campaigns to educate the public about cyber safety. He stressed that cybercrime complaints should be addressed promptly, ensuring offenders are apprehended without delay.
