Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Election, urging voters to support the NDA’s “double-engine” government for faster development in the state. Speaking at a massive rally in Garhwa, Modi criticized Jharkhand’s JMM government under Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing it of stalling progress in the tribal state.
Modi highlighted BJP’s commitment to Jharkhand, reminding the audience that it was the BJP that facilitated the state’s creation to promote growth and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of the next two decades for Jharkhand’s role in the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and called on BJP workers to mobilize support at every level.
He also endorsed BJP’s Sankalp Patra for Jharkhand, which focuses on women’s welfare and security. Among the proposed schemes is the Gogo Didi Yojana, offering a monthly stipend of Rs 2100 for women, and subsidized gas cylinders priced at Rs 500, echoing the benefits of the Ujjawala Yojana.
Taking aim at the opposition INDIA bloc, Modi accused them of making false promises and failing to deliver, contrasting it with the BJP’s track record of fulfilling commitments. In closing, he extended warm greetings for Chhath Puja, the state’s significant four-day festival.
