Arshad Warsi recently opened up about his decision to step aside for Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 2, despite starring in the successful first installment. In a candid interview with Mashable India, Arshad admitted he wasn’t entirely enthusiastic about the Jolly LLB 2 script, explaining, “I didn’t like the script…I’m just being honest. I’m not a greedy guy… It takes a lot to get me out of the house; I’m lazy as hell.”
Arshad acknowledged that Akshay Kumar’s stardom would bring a broader audience, aligning with the studio’s vision for a larger-scale film. He shared, “I told Subhash to take Akshay… With me, you will get the crowd of 500 people, but with Akshay, you will get 5000 people.”
The original Jolly LLB, featuring Arshad and Boman Irani, was a critical and commercial success, grossing nearly Rs 50 crore on a Rs 10 crore budget. Jolly LLB 2, led by Akshay, also thrived at the box office and won positive reviews. Now, the franchise is bringing Arshad and Akshay together for the much-anticipated third installment, reuniting the duo to continue the popular legal drama series.
