Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique joins Ajit Pawar’s NCP to contest from Bandra East

Zeeshan Siddique, son of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday. Siddique’s move follows his expulsion from the Congress in August, where he was accused of voting against the party during Maharashtra’s legislative council elections—an allegation he has consistently denied.

Reflecting on his new political path, Siddique shared, “It is an emotional day for me and my family. I am thankful to Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare for their support during these challenging times.” He confirmed he had received the NCP’s nomination for the Bandra East constituency and expressed confidence in securing another victory.

Siddique’s departure from Congress and entry into Ajit Pawar’s faction highlights the dynamic realignments in Maharashtra’s political landscape, where prominent leaders continue to shift allegiances. His candidacy will be closely watched as the state gears up for a highly competitive election season.
