  1. Cyclone Intensity: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has provided reassurance regarding the intensity of Cyclone Dana. According to Manorama Mohanty, director of IMD Bhubaneswar, the impending storm is unlikely to develop into a super cyclonic storm or an extremely severe cyclonic storm. However, it may intensify into a severe cyclonic storm with wind speeds potentially reaching 100-120 kmph.
  2. Weather Alerts: A yellow warning has been issued for various districts of Odisha, predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. The affected districts include Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, and Puri.
  3. State Preparations: DK Singh, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of Odisha, emphasized the state’s priority of achieving ‘Zero Casualty’ during Cyclone Dana. The goal is to prevent any loss of human or animal life due to the storm. A review meeting was held on Sunday where district officials were given instructions to enhance their cyclone preparedness and take necessary precautions.

The Odisha administration is actively coordinating disaster management efforts to minimize damage and ensure the safety of people and livestock as Cyclone Dana approaches.
