UP Minister’s Bizarre Claim: ‘Cleaning, Lying In Cowshed Can Cure Cancer’

Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Singh Gangwar recently made controversial remarks during the inauguration of the Kanha Gaushala in Nougawa Pakadiya, claiming that certain activities involving cows could have health benefits. He suggested that lying in a cowshed could cure cancer, while stroking a cow’s back could help reduce blood pressure. He also emphasized the benefits of cow products, such as burning cow dung to repel mosquitoes.

Gangwar stated that individuals with high blood pressure could reduce their medication by regularly stroking a cow’s back, and claimed that cancer patients could find relief by cleaning and lying in cowsheds. His comments, which promote traditional beliefs around the benefits of cows, have sparked discussions.

The minister also touched on the issue of stray cattle, admonishing farmers for not properly caring for cows, which he said was leading to harm. He even suggested that Muslims use cow’s milk in their Eid celebrations as part of fostering harmony.

Gangwar, who joined the BJP in 2017, is known for making outspoken remarks, including criticisms of fellow politicians.
