Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was admitted to Reliance Hospital on Monday for tests to assess blockages in his heart and arteries, according to IANS. Thackeray, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, has a history of heart issues, having undergone angioplasty twice in the past—once in 2012 and again in 2016. In these procedures, doctors inserted stents to clear blockages in his arteries.
Recently, Thackeray addressed his party’s annual Dussehra rally in Mumbai, where he criticized the BJP, his former ally. He questioned whether the current “hybrid BJP” aligns with the RSS’s values and accused the party of arrogance, comparing it to the Kauravas from the Mahabharata. Thackeray reaffirmed his commitment to his late father Balasaheb Thackeray’s version of Hindutva and announced plans to build temples dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in every district if his party comes to power.
