FIR against Bharadwaj, 2 others for ‘intimidating’ BJP leader

An FIR has been lodged against AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj and other party members for allegedly intimidating and stopping the car of Delhi Legislative Assembly’s Leader of Opposition, Vijender Gupta, during a protest on Saturday. The protest was held by AAP leaders and bus marshals outside the Lieutenant Governor’s residence regarding the reinstatement of bus marshals.

According to the FIR, Bharadwaj, along with three AAP MLAs—Kuldeep Kumar, Jarnail Singh, and Rohit Mahroliya—has been booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including criminal intimidation, wrongful restraint, and voluntarily causing hurt. Gupta alleged in the FIR that after leaving Raj Niwas, he was attacked, manhandled, and threatened by the AAP leaders.

On the other hand, AAP leaders accused Gupta and the police of attacking the protesting bus marshals. The police stated that they are conducting an inquiry, and no complaint has been received from AAP as of now.
