On Saturday morning, the Indian Army reported that two terrorists were eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district during “Operation GUGALDHAR.” According to the army, security forces recovered war-like stores, and a search of the area is ongoing as part of the operation.
The operation began on October 4, 2024, based on intelligence regarding an infiltration attempt. A joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched the operation in the Gugaldhar area. Suspicious activity was detected by vigilant troops, who challenged the terrorists, leading to an exchange of fire.
The operation is still in progress, with security forces continuing their efforts to secure the area and prevent further infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kupwara district.
