Two terrorists were killed in an encounter as security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday. The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps reported that the operation was launched based on intelligence regarding the infiltration. During the operation at Gugaldhar, Kupwara, suspicious activity was detected by alert troops, who challenged the infiltrators, leading to an exchange of fire.
The operation, which involved both the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, successfully neutralized the terrorists, with the joint forces delivering effective fire. The operation is still ongoing, as per the Indian Army’s post on X.
Additionally, a similar exchange of fire was reported in the Kishtwar district, where security forces launched a joint search operation in Chatroo village after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
Earlier, another encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
