The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 started with rollover contestant Akash Kumar Sharma, a Head Constable in the Indo Tibetan Border Police. He took home Rs 3,20,000 after wrongly answering the question for Rs 6,40,000. After Akash Kumar Sharma left the show, Big B played Fastest Finger First round and the two contestants who became the Top 2 to play ‘Jaldi 5’ were Apoorva L Shetty and Gaurav Agarwal. After a thrilling Jaldi 5 round, Apoorva makes it to the hot seat. Apoorva is a student from Mangalore, Karnataka and is preparing for UPSC. Apoorva Shetty was both thrilled and shocked when she finally reached the hot seat. Her younger sister told Amitabh Bachchan that Apoorva had cried a lot the night before and couldn’t sleep.
When Amitabh Bachchan asked her why, Apoorva explained, “I was sitting in the audience, sir. I could only see your back, and I kept thinking, ‘When will I get my chance?'”
Host Mr Bachchan replied in his signature humorous style, saying, “At least you could see my head, right?” He then offered encouraging words to the UPSC aspirant, adding, “Keep smiling like this. You’ve been smiling since you arrived.”
Apoorva added, “My cheeks are hurting from smiling so much while looking at you, sir.” In his usual playful style, Big B replied, “Keep it that way. You look at me, I’ll look at you. The game will go on, and we’ll keep chatting. So, how are you doing, and what’s been keeping you busy?”

She revealed that her father had predicted that she would be on the show one day. This revelation surprised Big B, who praised her, stating that it was indeed a very tough question. Big B showed a sweet gesture as he made a surprise call to Apoorva’s father. The father-daughter duo got emotional talking to each other. As Big B saw Apoorva crying he got up from his chair and offered her tissues saying, “It is his second job on the show.” He even wiped her tears,
