Republican Party National Secretary General Dr Rajeev Menon said that the allegations levelled by MLA PV Anwar are serious and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan should respond. “If the allegations made by PV Anwar against the Chief Minister are true, it has to be proved. It is as clear as day that the CPM and the government are in the dock over the allegations. However, Dr Rajeev Menon said that the investigation is not going in the right direction and the investigation team is the accused. Anwar’s press conference is an attack on all political leaders in Kerala. Dr Rajeev Menon demanded that Pinarayi Vijayan should step down from the chief minister’s post and hand over the probe to the central agency.
The CPM is going to suffer a bigger setback than what happened in Tripura and West Bengal. Pv Anwar made serious allegations that challenged the CPM and the government in every sense. The chief minister and the police are protecting many even after some videos were displayed at a press conference as proof of the police’s foul play in the gold smuggling case. If the truth has to come out, there has to be a proper investigation. Anwar’s press conferences revealed that the chief minister had entrusted the political secretary to the chief minister P Sasi and ADGP Ajith Kumar but both failed to fulfill their responsibilities. The allegations have been levelled against the chief minister and his office.
The MLA said that the ADGP in charge of law and order has links with gold smugglers and underworld mafia and nothing can happen without the knowledge of the political secretary to the chief minister. In that case, the question that remains is that his political secretary will not do anything without the knowledge of the chief minister. When asked whether the chief minister and the party are at the forefront of criminal activities in Kerala, He said that the chief minister has a responsibility to answer to the entire society. Rajeev Menon said.
