New York Police Foils Khalistani Plot To Disrupt PM Modi’s US Rally, One Arrested

New York’s law enforcement agencies arrested a Khalistani protester and thwarted an attempt by another group to breach the designated “Free Speech Zone” during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s community event at Nassau Coliseum.

During the event, PM Modi addressed a large gathering of Indian-Americans, highlighting his government’s efforts to position India as a global leader and expressing gratitude for the strengthening of ties between the US and India at the grassroots level.

According to local reports, one protester was detained while a group affiliated with Khalistani interests was relocated to the designated protest area. Authorities also removed provocative materials from the vicinity, including banners that featured crosshairs targeting an image of Modi’s face. Nassau County police removed them from the roads near the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Some of these elements were allegedly linked to the pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).

As per sources, Khalistani elements in the US are projecting themselves as a minority community. They believe they are a strong voting bloc in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his three-day visit to the United States, participated in the Quad summit, which included India, the US, Australia, and Japan.

US President Joe Biden hosted PM Modi, along with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in his hometown of Delaware for a concluding summit on Saturday.
