‘One nation, one mom’: Congress takes dig at viral Tirupati laddu tweets amid prasad row

The Kerala Congress recently took a lighthearted jab at a wave of identical tweets that emerged in relation to the Tirupati Laddu controversy. The party’s official Twitter account sarcastically captioned the situation with “One nation, one mom,” pointing out the peculiar uniformity in personal anecdotes about the famous Tirupati temple prasad. The tweets all recounted a similar story where individuals claimed their mothers had warned them about consuming too much of the Laddu, hinting at concerns over its hygiene.

This viral moment comes amid a serious uproar over allegations that animal fat, including beef, pig fat, and fish oil, were found in the ghee used to prepare the sacred prasad at the Tirumala temple. Lab tests reportedly confirmed these ingredients, sparking widespread outrage across India. Political leaders, including former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, have weighed in on the controversy. The BJP has gone further, calling for a CBI investigation, considering the allegations an insult to Hindus worldwide.

As the scandal continues to fuel national debate and calls for accountability, the Congress’ playful tweet offered a moment of humor, contrasting with the otherwise serious discourse surrounding the issue.
