‘Will End Liquor Ban In An Hour…’: Prashant Kishor’s Bold Promise If Elected To Power In Bihar

Patna: As Jan Suraj prepares for its foundation day on October 2, party chief Prashant Kishor made a bold promise on Saturday to end Bihar’s controversial liquor ban immediately if his party comes to power.

Speaking to Hindusthan Mirror, Kishor stated, “We don’t need any special preparations for October 2. We’ve been working towards this for the past two years. If a Jan Suraj government is formed, we will lift the liquor ban within one hour.”

In response to questions about Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s statewide tour, Kishor said, “Best wishes to him. At least he has started engaging with the public by stepping out of his house.”

Kishor also weighed in on the ongoing spat between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav, which followed Yadav’s claim that Kumar had apologised to him with folded hands for rejoining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Kishor said both leaders have been detrimental to Bihar’s progress.

“This issue between Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav doesn’t really matter. Whether someone apologised or not, both have caused harm to Bihar over the last 30 years. The people of Bihar have seen enough of them. We are urging both of them to step aside and let Bihar move forward,” said Prashant Kishor.

Previously, Kishor criticised Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, questioning his ability to lead the state. Speaking at an event in Bhojpur, Kishor remarked, “It’s one thing if someone cannot get an education due to a lack of resources. But if someone’s parents were Chief Ministers, and he still couldn’t pass the 10th grade, it shows a disregard for education.”
