The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations at the residence of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, along with the homes of his close relatives and associates, in connection with a case of fund misappropriation.
In a post shared on X, the ED revealed that during the search, they seized various incriminating documents, including property-related papers linked to Dr. Ghosh and his wife, Dr. Sangeeta Ghosh.
According to reports from the Hindusthan Mirror, citing an ED press release, the couple owned three flats and two houses in Kolkata, an additional flat in Murshidabad, and a farmhouse in South 24 Parganas.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday night, the ED pointed out that the properties acquired by Dr. Sangeeta Ghosh were obtained without the necessary state government approvals. The raids, conducted on September 6, uncovered documents supporting these claims.
On Tuesday, a special CBI court remanded Dr. Sandip Ghosh to judicial custody until September 23 in connection with the ongoing investigation into financial irregularities.
