The Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation is inviting entries for the 7th annual National Award for Excellence 2024, and is proud to introduce a new category: the National Excellence Award for Pravasi Bharatiya. This new category recognizes the exceptional contributions of overseas Indians towards the progress and welfare of their motherland. Like other categories, this award comes with a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh, a memento, and a citation.
The inclusion of this category addresses a long-standing demand from the foundation’s overseas well-wishers. The award is open to all individuals and institutions working or residing anywhere in the world, and the foundation encourages nominations or direct applications.
The deadline for submitting entries across all categories has been extended to September 30th, 2024. The prestigious National Awards, which cover fields such as Journalism, Reporting on Medical Malpractices, Science Reporting, Excellence in Art & Culture, Social Services (Shri Dattopant Thengadi Seva Samman), and the new Pravasi Bharatiya category, will be announced in the last week of October 2024.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 29th, 2024, in New Delhi.
