Kangana Ranaut doesn’t like Bollywood parties and she is making sure everyone knows it now. The actress, who will be seen in the film Emergency next month, opened up about her dislike towards Bollywood parties and said that she is traumatised by the gatherings. She called Bollywood stars ‘stupid’ and ‘dumb’, and confessed the conversations at their parties are not something that entice her.
In a conversation with Raj Shamani, Kangana was asked if she has friends in Bollywood. Kangana said, “Look, I am not Bollywood kind of person, okay. I can’t be friends with Bollywood people for sure.” She added, “Bollywood people are just so full of themselves. They are stupid, they are dumb, they are (all about) protein shake and that kind of a (life).”
When the host defended Bollywood, suggesting that not all stars might be like that, Kangana replied, “Come on yaar, I have seen enough Bollywood to know that, you don’t tell me. If they are not shooting, their routine is they wake up in the morning, do some physical training, sleep in the afternoon, again wake up, go to gym, again sleep in the night or watch TV. They are like grasshoppers, totally blank. How can you be friends with such people? They have no idea what is going on where, they have no conversations, they meet, they drink (and discuss their clothes, accessories). I will be very shocked to find a decent person in Bollywood who can talk beyond impacts or cars.”
She agreed that there are directors and writers who have different conversations but wondered why would she hang out with them. “Maybe directors and writers but obviously they are different age groups, why would I hang out with them?” she said.
Talking about Bollywood parties, Kangana said, “It is embarrassing, the talks they are having (at these parties).” Kangana went on to impersonate a few alleged actors in the industry who discuss their schedules, diets and dating rumours at Bollywood parties. “It’s trauma, a Bollywood party for me is like trauma,” Kangana said.
On the work front, Kangana will be seen playing Indira Gandhi in Emergency. Not only will she be starring in the film but she is also directing the movie. This marks her second directorial film. She made her debut as a director with Manikarnika in 2019.
