Geeta Phogat’s Cryptic Post Goes Viral After Vinesh Thanks Family, Coaches But Forgets Mahavir In Moving Note

Vinesh Phogat returned to India on August 17 after her plea for a joint silver medal was rejected by Court of Arbitration (CAS). Vinesh was guaranteed a silver medal after she marched into the final of the 50KG wrestling event, however, she was disqualified after being found slightly overweight than the permitted limit. Vinesh appealed against the ruling before CAS but to no avail. She later announced her retirement from wrestling.

Before leaving Paris, Vinesh penned an emotional note and spoke on her struggles at the Paris Olympics. She revealed how hard she tried to cut down on weight, saying that luck was not on her side. Vinesh also shed light on the impact of her father and mother on her life and thanked her husband, Somvir Rathee, and several coaches who supported her throughout her journey.

However, Vinesh forgot to mention the name of her uncle Mahavir Phogat, father of Geeta and Babita Phogat, who also played a big role in the wrestling journey. Soon after Vinesh’s post went viral, Geeta Phogat took to Twitter and shared a cryptic post.

“People will pay for their wrongdoings today and tomorrow,” Geeta’s post meant.

Meanwhile, Geeta Phogat’s husband Pawan Kumar also reacted to Vinesh’s post and said she should have mentioned Uncle Vinesh Phogat in her post.

“Vinesh, you wrote well but it seems you missed your uncle Mahavir Phogat who started your wrestling career,” he wrote. The post was also reposted by Geeta Phogat.
