When Jaya Bachchan gave a bold statement on Aishwarya Rai: “She is not my daughter!”

Jaya Bachchan’s candid remarks about her daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have once again captured public attention, particularly a video of past interview that has resurfaced on social media. In this interview, Jaya shared her perspective on the dynamics of her relationship with Aishwarya, emphasizing the distinction between a daughter and a daughter-in-law.

In a video shared on Instagram by dystopiacape, Jaya is having a conversation with designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Jaya openly discussed her role as a mother-in-law. When asked if she was strict with Aishwarya after her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya responded with a straightforward assertion: “Strict? She’s not my daughter! She’s my daughter-in-law. Why should I be strict with her? I’m sure her mother has done that for her”.

Jaya elaborated on her views by stating, “There is a difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law, you know. I mean, I don’t know why, but you don’t feel you don’t need to respect your parents. As a daughter, you take your parents for granted. With your in-laws, you can’t do that”. This distinction highlights the different expectations and responsibilities that come with each familial role.

Jaya also acknowledged that relationships can evolve over time. She noted, “And later on, things change – because today, I feel more a Bachchan than a Bhaduri”. This statement reflects her growing connection to the Bachchan family, indicating that her bond with Aishwarya may deepen as time progresses.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan married in 2007 and welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in 2011. Rumors of marital trouble have been circulated, particularly after Abhishek’s ambiguous social media activity, which included liking a post about divorce.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan recently addressed the rumours during a media interaction, saying, “I don’t have anything to say to you all about that. You all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, sadly. I understand why you do it. You have to file some stories. It’s okay, we’re celebrities, we have to take it Still Married, Sorry.”
