Nuzarath Jahan, National Vice President of the Republican Party of India (RPI), stated that the tragedy in Wayanad should be treated as a national calamity. Ordinary poor people in the rural areas of Wayanad have been severely affected, and the death toll continues to rise.
“The national Vice President of the Republican Party will intervene and coordinate all emergency assistance to the families of the deceased and the affected locals,” said Nuzarath Jahan, National Vice President of the Republican Party of India.
RPI state organization general secretary R. C. Rajeevdas also addressed the tragic news. Nuzarath Jahan communicated that all possible support and cooperation will be provided under the RPI national Vice President. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has assured that all possible interventions will be made under the Ministries of Social Justice and Empowerment, which falls under the RPI department. Additionally, a message has been sent to the Prime Minister through an e-mail, demanding immediate intervention from the central Vice President. The death toll is expected to rise further, and an emergency meeting of the party is being convened in Delhi to coordinate the situation. The disaster in Meppadi Mundakkai is reported to be the worst that has ever occurred in Wayanad, with many areas isolated due to landslides. Efforts will be coordinated to provide assistance to all affected regions.
“The extent of the tragedy is still inexplicable. It is difficult to reach many places, but we are taking all necessary preparations to aid Wayanad,” said Nuzarath Jahan. “Wayanad was hit by heavy rains, and we share the grief of the families of the deceased. We will extend all possible cooperation in the rescue operations for the missing and coordinate rescue efforts in every possible way.”
