NEW DELHI: Former BJP MP from Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris M Master Mathan passed away on Friday night due to age-related issues at the age of 91.
Expressing his condolences, PM Narendra Modi said in a post on X, “The death of former Member of Parliament Mr. Master Madan is deeply saddened. He will forever be remembered for his social service efforts and work for the downtrodden. He also sought to strengthen our party in Tamil Nadu. My deepest condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti.”
Mathan was a noted leader of Badaga community and is survived by his wife and three children.
BJP national president J P Nadda also expressed his condolences saying, “I was deeply saddened to learn of the demise of former BJP Member of Parliament ‘Master Mathan’. He dedicated his entire life for the betterment of the society and the upliftment of the underprivileged.”
“He will also be remembered for his contributions to strengthening the party’s fundamentals and ideologies in Tamil Nadu. His demise is an irreparable loss to the Bharatiya Janata Party. My deepest condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti,” he added.
