Ahead of August 13 launch, more Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold details leaked

Google is gearing up to release the Google Pixel 9 series on August 13. According to the official teasers, the higher-end smartphones of the series will be heavily integrated by its AI, Gemini. While everyone is looking forward to the release of the Pixel 9 series, the most awaited device is the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It is the second foldable of the company and the first one to be launched in India. Barring the launch details and Gemini AI integration, Google has not revealed anything about the phone. However, a few rumours and leaks have been doing the rounds on the internet. It is anticipated that the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be very different from its predecessor, Google Pixel Fold. Let’s look at the leaks in detail.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Leaked display

The upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a much larger display than its predecessor. According to a report, published in Android Authority, Pixel 9 Pro Fold will probably feature, starting with an inner display measuring 8-inches diagonally. It is not only an upgrade from 7.4-inches on Fold 1, but also stands as a great competitor.

According to the report, the new display will apparently feature a resolution of 2152 x 2076, hit 1,600 nits of peak brightness and support a 120Hz refresh rate. The Google Fold featured a disappointingly dim 1,000 nits.

As a result of such a large screen, the outer display will also be taller. The 6.24-inch panel is 0.4-inches bigger diagonally versus the original. It does not speak about the display crease, but the large display also doesn’t account for the additional width of the device and its hinge.

Leaked camera

Although the teaser doesn’t reveal the camera on the inner screen, rumours indicate that the phone will feature a punch-hole camera on the left side of the screen, a design upgrade from the first fold’s bezel-mounted camera, made possible by the reduced bezel size.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Expected India price

Lastly, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, succeeding last year’s Pixel Fold, will cost €1,899 (Rs 173,000 approximately) for the 256GB version and €2,029 (Rs 184,000 approximately) for the 512GB version, and will apparently be available in Obsidian and Porcelain only.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Design (confirmed)

Google will disclose all about the new Google Pixel 9 series on August 13 but before that, it has confirmed the design and looks of its premium models. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold teaser on X (formerly Twitter) reveals almost everything about the device. The official teaser shows Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a stunning design with dual-pill-shaped camera cutouts. The cameras are housed on a rectangular island in the top-left corner of the rear panel.

Google Pixel 9 event

The tech giant has also confirmed the timeline of the Google event, which will take place on August 13. The event is set to be commemorated at 10AM PT, which means 10.30PM in India.
