New Delhi: Meta-owned WhatsApp has introduced a new feature to help users easily locate their most important contacts and groups. This feature allows users to designate specific contacts and groups as favourites, making it easier to sift through chats quickly.
In addition, the favourites feature is now available in the calls tab on WhatsApp, enabling users to speed-dial their family or friends with ease. According to the company, this feature will be rolled out to all users over the next few weeks.
This new feature acts as an extra Chat Filter, which hides all conversations except for those marked as favourites. Chat Filters were initially launched in April, allowing users to view all messages, filter by unread messages, or show only group chats.
Currently, there is no official word on whether the ‘Favourites’ filter will be available for the desktop and browser versions of WhatsApp.
