License of Bar Selling Beer to Accused Mihir Shah Suspended in Mumbai BMW Hit-and-Run

Mumbai/New Delhi: The license of a Mumbai bar, from where BMW hit-and-run accused Mihir Shah purchased four bottles of beer before a fatal collision last Sunday, has been temporarily suspended due to alleged violations, officials have confirmed.

Police sources revealed that Mihir Shah was heavily intoxicated and joyriding at the time of the tragic accident, which claimed the life of a woman riding pillion on a bike.

Mihir and his driver purchased beer from Sai Prasad Bar in Malad and consumed it inside the car after leaving another bar in Juhu where they had been drinking with friends.

Authorities suspended the bar’s license for selling alcohol to Shah after the permitted hours. During a raid, officials discovered that security camera footage from the bar had been deleted.

Prior to visiting the Malad bar, Mihir Shah and his friends had consumed twelve 60ml glasses of whiskey at Vice-Global Tapas Bar in Juhu. Parts of this bar were later demolished for serving liquor to Shah, who is under the legal drinking age of 25, based on a falsified ID claiming he was 27.

Mihir Shah, the son of politician Rajesh Shah from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction, allegedly drove the BMW involved in the collision that killed Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and injured her husband Pradeep in Mumbai’s Worli area. His driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, was also in the car.

CCTV footage indicates that Ms. Nakhwa was dragged for 1.5 km after the collision before the BMW was stopped. Police further stated that the footage shows Shah switching seats with Bidawat, pulling the woman’s body from under the car, leaving it on the road, and then driving away.
